Airways is undoubtedly the most used transportation system in the entire world. It has made the world a very small place to live in.
Being a developing country Nepal has been trying all of its effort for the betterment to construct and develop airports in Nepal. Nijgadh Airport issue, Pokhara International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport are most of the airport news we’ve been hearing lately. Every year the Nepalese government has been investing to develop airports in Nepal.

As per date there have been a total number of 53 Airports in Nepal. However out of these numbers few are not operational due to various reasons. These airports in Nepal seem to have been constructed without studying their operational feasibility and geography. This data shows that almost 40% of the overall constructed airports in Nepal have gone out of function because of the lack of proper studying done before their construction. This is infact a very sad thing for our country for how economically backward we are. Looking ahead there are several other airport projects currently ongoing in Nepal. Hopefully these projects are properly analyzed and evaluated by experts to ensure its proper operation in the future. With few plans of Airport construction being halted there are several airports which are under construction or are at their final phases before they start providing service.
